My Story

I grew up in Western, PA where I spent my childhood wandering in the woods behind my house and reading piles of books. It was somewhere in the midst of these years that my love of acting emerged. After high school I entered college and decided I needed to be practical and I got a degree in English Education. This led to a job teaching high school students, where I soon realized that I couldn't stop thinking about acting. After three years of teaching I decided to do something about my dream of acting.

Doors opened up for me to get an MFA in acting at the University of Louisville in KY and I graduated in the spring of 2009. After graduation I committed to my first project, a one-woman show I had started in graduate school called, Portrait of a Family, which premiered in March 2010.

The journey has continued from there. There are days when I feel confident and sure of myself and my work. And other days when I wrestle with doubts and fears and the anxiety of the unknown. It is a journey and like most journeys it is filled with both the wonderful and hard.

The purpose of this site is to share parts of my story as they unfold. My thoughts on my process, various projects I am working on, and a glimpse into the joys and struggles that fill my life and acting.

I hope that this site and my work encourages you to search for beauty in your own life, wherever you may be.
